The Centre for Agricultural Research of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences is the largest agricultural research centre in Hungary with more than 400 employees. The Institute for Veterinary Medical Research of the Centre for Agricultural Research was founded in 1949 and since that time it has a continuously successful research history in the field of infectious diseases of animals and humans. It participated in several FP projects in the last decade (EDEN, Med-Vet-Net, EuroPathoGenom, NOVADUCK, EELREP, SUPASAL-VAC).
